Dream a Little

It could be that you're ready to take that next step - to buy a home, car, or treat yourself and your family to the vacation of a lifetime. We're just waiting in the wings to offer our assistance. We'll sit down over a cup of coffee and talk about what really matters to you, and we'll really listen. If you can't get in here during a week day, we'll arrange to meet with you on Saturday morning, by appointment. We specialize in a variety of types of loans.

Mortgage Loans

Real Estate Loans

In town, out of town, on a lake, investment properties, acreages, we are totally prepared to meet all of your real estate lending needs. Fixed rate loans, variable rate loans, rate locks, land leasing, lot financing, and construction financing are also available. We have over 50 years of combined lending experience helping people who've found just the right place to call their own. Our rates and fees are very, very competitive.

  • Mortgage Loans
  • 2nd Mortgages
  • Home Equity Lines of Credit
  • Construction Financing
  • Investment Property Financing

Certificates of Deposit (CD)

This savings plan generally offers higher interest rates than any of our other savings plans, and your money is secure in a FDIC insured account. And CDs are flexible, too! You can choose terms from 3 months to 30 months. With that many choices, you can avoid the need for early withdrawal, which may incur a penalty.

Individual Retirement Account (IRA)

Farmers & Merchants Bank has been serving our community for a long time, and we're not going anywhere. We hope you feel the same way. That's why we believe so strongly in helping our customers ensure their financial security for retirement and beyond through a variety of retirement accounts. If you're not sure which one is right for you, we'd be glad to sit down and help you decide.

Regular IRA

This option is a tax-deferred retirement account for investors under 70 1/2 years of age. Annual contributions can total up to $5,000 and they may be tax deductible (consult your tax advisor). Taxes are deferred until payout, starting at age 59 1/2. Please note: If you are 50 years or older, you may contribute up to $6,000.00.

Variable IRA

This account offers the same features as a Regular IRA but interest rates are adjusted periodically, rather than remaining fixed.

Roth IRA

The Roth IRA allows contributions from people under 70 1/2, provided they have earned income. Contributions are generally limited to 100 percent of earned income or $2000, whichever is less. Contributions are not deductible, but earnings are tax deferred and potentially tax-free. Please note: If you are 50 years or older, you may contribute up to $6,000.00.

Education IRA

This investment account is a nondeductible account that features penalty-free and tax-free withdrawals specifically earmarked for a child's higher education expenses. Contributions may be made on behalf of a child until the day before his or her 18th birthday.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

This tax-advantaged account is available to those enrolled in a high deductible health plan, putting more health decisions in your hands. Contributions can be rolled over year to year and our competitive interest rates increase the higher your balance is.

Credit Cards and Ready Reserve

We also offer other credit options to those who qualify:

  • Visa Credit Card: Competitive rates and international buying power
  • Ready Reserve: A pre-approved personal line of credit, balancing your account automatically in the event it becomes overdrawn. With this product, you can avoid overdraft charges and transaction delays, ending the complication of overdrawn accounts.

Banking Conveniences

We offer many banking and online conveniences that make banking easy. Click here to learn more.
