One of the most common reasons people come to a bank is to set up
checking or savings accounts. We have a variety of types of accounts,
and we'll work with you to help you choose the one that best fits your
goals and lifestyle.
Checking Accounts
We've got a checking account tailored just for you based on your spending
habits and stage of life. Each type of account has its own features,
so you'll want to think about factors such as how many checks you usually
write in a month and your average balance. We'd be glad to sit down
and help you figure out which one is right for you. We feature:
- Regular Checking Accounts
- Ultimate Checking
- Ultimate Gold Checking
- Now Accounts
- Experienced Club Accounts
Statement Savings Account
Maybe you're trying to tuck a little away for a rainy day, or would
like to get your kids started on a savings plan. This might be a good
place to start. You need only $50 to open this account, and you may
make up to six withdrawals a month with no penalty. We've got competitive
variable interest rates, and won't charge you a dime as long as the
balance stays above $50, or if the account holder is 18 or younger.
Money Market Savings Account
The advantage of this federally insured account is that it offers money
market interest rates, which are usually higher, than a Statement Savings
Account. As you balance in this account increases, you may even qualify
for higher interest rates. An initial deposit of $500 is the only requirement,
and then you're entitled to six free withdrawals per month, with up
to three of those by check.
Certificates of Deposit
This savings plan generally offers higher interest rates than any of
our other savings plans, and your money is secure in a FDIC insured
account. And CDs are flexible, too! You can choose terms from 3 months
to 30 months. With that many choices, you can avoid the need for early
withdrawal, which may incur a penalty.
Now that the basics are out of the way, we can look more closely
at the many different ways we at Farmers & Merchants Bank can
help you meet your financial goals.
